James N. Polson's education began in schools at Fayetteville Arkansas and was disrupted by war. He chose and remained with farming. Moved to 1 mile west of Southwest City Missouri (into Indian Territory) in 1874, located upon a farm he now still cultivates but has lived in Southwest City since fall of 1885. Owns 5 acres in suburbs of city. On March 13, 1873 married Henrietta Stevenson, daughter of Franklin Stevenson (deceased). Had 8 children, now living are: Henry, Emil, Alma, John. James and his wife are members of the Methodist Episcipal Church South.
